Men's football is part of our high-performance programme here at Swansea University. Our high-performance sports receive; high-performance coaching, sport science services, athlete lifestyle management, physiotherapy and strength and conditioning support.

The football club has a total of seven men’s teams and two women’s teams. Four of the men’s and two of the women’s teams compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions. The men’s first team currently compete in the BUCS Premier South (top league) and the women’s BUCS Western 2B. The football club also competes at the annual Varsity event against Cardiff University, which is the second largest British Varsity event behind Oxford and Cambridge.

The football club has access to world-class facilities, playing at the International Sport Village (ISV) and training at Fairwood Training Ground (the training ground of Swansea City Football Club). The club also has access to the rest of ISV’s facilities and ‘The Shed’ our elite strength and conditioning centre.

The men’s team have a domestic side, set up by alumni of the club who compete in the JD Cymru South with the possibility of competing in the JD Cymru Premier in the nearby future. The JD Cymru Premier is the highest standard in Wales offering clubs the opportunity to play in qualification rounds for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League and has live weekly coverage on S4C.

Many of the current squad players have professional backgrounds being on the books at professional football league clubs such as Swansea City FC and Bristol City FC. The football club has a worldwide reach with strong ties to the USA.

Intramural football and futsal are also available within the football club. The futsal club competes in BUCS Western 2B and has seen significant growth and interest over the last few years. The intramural football league is now one of the biggest clubs and societies the university has to offer, consisting of 16 teams who compete over the course of the academic year. 

The university offers Talented Athlete Scholarship Schemes (TASS) to highly talented student-athletes with financial benefits up to £2000 and a support package which may include; strength and conditioning training, physiotherapy, psychological aid and nutritional advice, all delivered by qualified practitioners.
