The application process
Step 1: Choose your course

Step 2: Check the requirements
Review your course page to make sure you meet the entry requirements and understand what you need to provide.
Step 3: Prepare your documents
Gather your supporting documents before you apply. Missing information may delay your application.
Step 4: Submit your application
For September entry, January entry and fast-track, apply online through the Learner Gateway.
Step 5: Keep your student number safe
Once you apply, we'll send you a student number which you'll need when you communicate with us.
Step 6: We review your application
Your application will be considered by the relevant team. We’ll contact you if we need any further info.
Step 7: Receive your decision
We aim to make decisions quickly. The goal for taught courses is 5 working days and 15 for research courses.
Step 8: Respond to your offer
If your application is successful, you’ll receive your offer by email with all the information you'll need.

Entry requirements and documentation
All applicants
- Bachelor's or Master's degree certificate (if you have completed your previous studies)
- Academic transcript showing modules studied and grades achieved (or a transcript to date if you are still studying)
- A short statement explaining why you want to study the course at Swansea University (or a research proposal for self-funded research applicants)
- A CV if you are applying without a degree
- Any additional course-specific documents listed on the course page
International applicants
Make sure you have the documents required for all students. In addition to the previous guidance for all applicants, international students will also need:
