The planned development at Swansea Bay Sports Park, Sketty Lane on the University’s Singleton Campus – along with developments at the nearby Morriston Hospital -  will bring together and advance innovation in sport, health and wellbeing, and will draw on expertise from across the University’s network of academia, health and collaborative industrial partners.

The development is funded through Swansea Bay City Deal in partnership with Swansea Bay University Health Board, Hywel Dda University Health Board, Swansea Council and ARCH, a Regional Collaboration for Health.

The development will help the University to nurture, grow and expand collaboration between health and sporting partners to develop innovative concepts and foster collaboration. This in turn will create business opportunities with the common goal of improving human performance, population health, job creation and economic growth for the wider region, and elevate the sporting landscape through world-class facilities.

This will support Swansea University’s aspiration to be recognised as the most active and successful sporting university in Wales, and enable the development of groundbreaking inventions in healthcare and medicine, leveraging cutting-edge research in life sciences and technology to boost economic growth and elevate the sporting landscape through world-class facilities.
