Important information

ACADEMIC YEAR: Runs August to May.

COSTS: The economy in Denmark performs above the European average, which means the cost of living is relatively expensive compared to many other countries. Aarhus have estimated the expected expenses for a student on their cost of living webpage.

VISA: You may need a residence permit for studies from the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) before you arrive in Denmark. Aarhus will send you information on how to apply for the permit after you receive your acceptance.  You must allow enough time to complete the permit application and for your permit to be processed and the residence permit to be sent to you.  There can be significant delays so please do not leave this until the last minute as you cannot travel to Denmark without it.

ACCOMMODATION: There is no on-campus accommodation at Aarhus.  The housing application is integrated into the admission application. Housing offers will be sent to successful applicants by 1 July (Autumn semesters).  Students must accept their housing offer and pay the first month’s rent and booking fee by credit card within 48 hours.  Click here to find out about the different accommodation options in Aarhus.  There is also a helpful blog that details housing options in different areas of Aarhus.

HEALTH INSURANCE: You will be required to purchase health insurance before your arrival in Aarhus. Further guidance on Health Insurance whilst at Aarhus can be found here.

Students that require Wellbeing and Disability Services are not eligible for this free of charge at Aarhus.  However, you can contact the Counselling and Support Centre at Aarhus to find out more about your options.
