The university is located in Bamberg in Bavaria an hour north of Nuremberg and under 2 hours from the Czech border. A large part of the town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Winters are cold with temperatures in the minuses summers are generally warm. There are plenty of outdoor activities for students to get involved in away from the University.
