Regensburg is situated in Bavaria on the Danube River an hour and a half away from Munich, Nuremberg and the Czech border. You are likely to experience hard winters with snow and frost and warm summers. Regensburg also offers a broad range of language including preparatory courses to help you get to grips with your German while you are there.

VISA: You may need a visa and/or residence permit for your stay in Germany, please refer to the German Embassy website to find out if you should apply before you travel. Your host university will provide you with the most up to date visa and immigration information. 

ACCOMMODATION: UR does not have on-campus accommdation but, there are a number of residences throughout the city. All exchange students should apply for housing through the online portal and ensure the application is submitted by the deadline. 

HEALTH INSURANCE: You will be required to purchase mandatory health insurance for your time at Regensburg. More information can be found here.
