Swansea University has announced the appointment of Niamh Lamond as Registrar and Chief Operating Officer, following a competitive external recruitment process. Niamh has been covering the role in an interim capacity since July 2021 and will now continue in post on a permanent basis.
Niamh has extensive experience within the Higher Education sector, having most recently worked as Chief Operating Officer at Ulster University before joining Swansea. Prior to that, she was the founding Chief Executive Officer and a Board Director of Falmouth Exeter Plus, a joint venture between Falmouth University and the University of Exeter delivering a wide range of professional services to both universities.
Niamh is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has also been a member of HEFCE’s strategic advisory committee for leadership, governance and management. Until December 2020, she represented Northern Ireland on the national executive of the Association of Heads of University Administration.
