Swansea University has soared 118 places to be ranked joint 307th, its highest ever position, in the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings 2024.
The 20th edition of the QS World University Rankings is released by global higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds and names the world’s 3,000 best universities.
This latest ranking positions Swansea among the top 21% in the QS World University Rankings.
The QS rankings provide authoritative comparative analysis on the performance of the world’s top universities from more than 100 countries.
The 2024 QS rankings show that Swansea University is also:
- Ranked in the top 200 for Employer Reputation (193rd, up 97 places). This is based on a global survey designed to evaluate the perceptions of employers on which universities produce the best graduates.
- Up 46 places to 418th for Academic Reputation. This is based on the QS Academic Reputation Survey, which gauges global academics' opinions on institutions demonstrating academic excellence.
- Ranked in the top 500 for its citations, up 37 places to 460. The QS ratio measures the average number of citations obtained per faculty member and is an estimate of the impact and quality of the scientific work produced by universities.
- Among the world’s top 250 universities for Sustainability, a new indicator introduced this year, which evaluates the social and environmental impact of universities as centres of education and research.
