Professor Paul Boyle, Vice-Chancellor of Swansea University, welcomes the news that the UK is rejoining the EU’s £80 billion Horizon research programme:
"Rejoining Horizon Europe is exceptionally good news, which researchers and scientists in Swansea University and across Wales will have been waiting for.
Horizon is the largest research and innovation collaboration in the world, and it is essential that Welsh scientists and researchers can engage with it. There are immense social and economic benefits for universities, businesses and SMEs as a result of associating with the work that Horizon Europe enables.
The collaborative research which Horizon helps foster is particularly important. Enabling the best researchers across Europe to work together will generate the best outcomes."
