About

Adam Francis is a Teaching Tutor and PhD Researcher at Swansea University within the department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE).

Adam’s research interests entail robotics and automation, including the design and build of mobile robot platforms for environmental monitoring applications. His PhD project is focussed on the development of robots capable of gas leakage detection and real-time pollution monitoring in outdoor industrial environments.

Adam has contributed to the teaching of a wide range of modules across the Faculty of Science and Engineering, including core EEE modules such as EG-150 Signals and Systems and EG-241 Electrical Machines. He has also had an active role in the design and delivery of EGA366 Kinematics and Programming for Robots, a module which introduces the modelling of different types of mobile robots and their path planning strategies.
