About

Demi obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biology from Cardiff University.  She completed a professional training year (PTY) in Swansea University as part of her undergraduate degree. She went on to undertake a PhD at Swansea University under the supervision of Professor Gareth Jenkins, which was entitled ‘Developing an in vitro repeat-dose approach to detect non-genotoxic carcinogens (NGCs)’.

During the write-up of her PhD, Demi then started a position as a postdoctoral researcher, in the EV biology Research group with Dr Jason Webber and then started a second position within this research group.  Both positions focussed on prostate cancer and its early detection using Extracellular vesicles (Evs) as a blood-based biomarker.
