About
I specialise in managing economically significant insect pests, including crop pests and disease vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks. My research focuses on Integrated Pest Management, emphasizing insect pest monitoring and the development of biopesticides as eco-friendly alternatives to chemical insecticides.
I've contributed to multidisciplinary projects on exploring factors influencing the virulence of insect pathogenic fungi and conducting risk assessments for fungal biopesticides. My research spans fundamental studies and field evaluations of biopesticide efficacy.
Currently, I lead the Natural Products BioHUB, a collaboration between Swansea University and Swansea City Council. This initiative, funded by the UK Government Levelling UP Fund, aims to unite academia, industry, and the community for resilient business growth and environmentally sustainable futures. Our focus is on expanding the use of natural products in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing to promote a healthier environment and community. Our overarching goal is to maximize the benefits of natural resources while minimizing environmental disturbances.
