Prof Jiawei Wang joined Swansea University in September 2024. Wang had his Bachelor's and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Tsinghua University in China. He then studied for his PhD degree in Chemistry with Prof. Martyn Poliakoff at the University of Nottingham, working on material processing in supercritical fluids. After that, he worked at the University of Birmingham, the University of Nottingham China campus, the University of Manchester and Aston University. His main research interests are applying heterogeneous catalysis in energy and environment-related areas.
