About
I commenced my role as an Adult Nurse lecturer in 2014, whilst undertaking my PGCE and MA in Education for the health professions. I am now a senior nurse lecturer based in the School of Health and Social Care and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I teach across a range of nursing programmes delivered to undergraduates and post gradates. I also teach a range of other health professionals including physicians associates, osteopathy and audiology students.
I frequently provide postgraduate dissertation supervision for those undertaking the Masters in nursing and Masters in Education for the health professions.
My clinical experience predominantly relates to Plastics Trauma, which is a speciality I am passionate about and teach as a component of a post graduate Tissue viability module. I also have clinical experience in Burns rehabilitation and I am involved in assessing postgraduates undertaking the module “Foundations in burn care”.
I am currently module lead for the pre-registration module: “Introduction to professional practice”.
I am also module lead for the pre-registration masters’ module: “Essentials of Nursing”, due to commence as part of the new Masters in nursing programme in September 2020. For this programme I will also be Year 2 lead.
In conjunction with the above, I am an admissions tutor, academic assessor and clinical placement link lecturer for a variety of clinical practice areas.
