About

Will is a lecturer in Design who is passionate about all things Design and Industry. He has spent his entire academic career working on industrially relevant problems, and continues this theme throughout all his teaching. 

He has degrees and an Engineering Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leicester and Swansea University.

Will spent some time in the industry working as a Tendering Engineer before a career academia. He has worked as a researcher and project coordinator on projects such as Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies (ASTUTE), Science & Innovation Campus Project (Bay Campus) and the Materials and Manufacturing Academy (M2A).

Will took on his first lectureship at UCL Mechanical Engineering, focussing on Industrial and Professional Coordination. He was module lead on Design and Professional Skills II and module tutor on  MEng Capstone Group Design Projects. In addition to his teaching and supervision activities, he held a number of leadership roles including Year 4 Tutor, Year in Industry Tutor. During his time at the department Will created and coordinated the Advisory Board, and held the chair for one year. He was part of the team that created Mech Space a student dedicated workshop. He continues his involvement with UCL Mechanical Engineering as Honorary Associate Professor.
