EG-320
Structural Mechanics III
This module aims to provide a fundamental understanding of the principles of structural instability and the principles of limit state analysis and elasto-plastic bending. Study of structural instability will include the potential energy approach and stability analysis of beam/columns, rigid bar/spring systems. Statical and kinematic solution approaches to plastic collapse problems wlll be analysed and applied in the solution of the plastic collapse of beams/frameworks.
