Nanjing Tech University

The Nanjing Tech University Summer School is a two-week residential programme designed to combine academic learning with cultural immersion. The programme structure includes:

• Chinese Language and Cultural Workshops: Practical language classes focused on developing confidence in everyday communication, complemented by hands-on cultural activities to deepen understanding of Chinese traditions.
• Academic Lecture Series: Themed sessions delivered by university academics, focusing on global sustainability challenges, climate change mitigation, and strategies for achieving carbon neutrality.
• Industry and Innovation Visits: Organised off-site visits, including tours of Chinese companies and insights into innovative sectors such as cross-border e-commerce and digital broadcasting.
• Cultural Excursions in Nanjing: Guided tours to the city’s most iconic historical and cultural sites, including the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Confucius Temple.

• A Swansea University academic will accompany you throughout the programme
• NJTU expects you to travel as a group and will provide transport from the airport to Nanjing
• Your flights will be booked and partially covered by NJTU 
• You will need to be available to travel to Nanjing the weekend of the 6th June and return to the UK at the end of the programme. 
• You may be required to contribute towards the cost of participation

• Students must be enrolled at Swansea University
• Students must have completed the bursary application form
• Students cannot be in the final year of study
• Students must be 18 years old to participate in all programmes
• Students will need to meet any eligibility criteria set by the programme provider/partner university summer school (where applicable)
• Postgraduate students can apply for funding but must provide evidence that their academic supervisor approves of their participation at the point of application
• International students should speak to the Visa Advice team to check the impact of participation on their Student Route visa

• Begin step 1 of the travel approval process. 

All students must complete the University's International Travel Approval process in order to participate in summer programmes and remain eligible for funding.
