Immigration Compliance

Swansea University holds a Student Sponsor Licence under the points-based Immigration system. This allows the University to sponsor international students from outside the UK who wish to come to Swansea University to study under the Student Route. To retain a Student sponsor licence and therefore the ability to recruit International Students, the University must comply with strict duties and responsibilities as required by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

The Immigration Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring, reviewing and enhancing immigration compliance across the University. This relates to students studying under the Student Route and to International members of staff, who most commonly obtain immigration permission to work in Swansea University under Tier 2 (due to change in December 2020).  The Immigration Compliance Officer works closely with Academic Services, Admissions, Human Resources and the International@CampusLife, as well as staff dealing with international students across the University.
