We are deeply committed to highly quality research which is intellectually innovative as well as having real-world impacts. In the most recent 2014 Research Excellence Framework exercise 98% of our research impact was rated world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*).

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has a Research Ethics and Governance Committee whose purpose is to ensure that the faculties research is designed and conducted to meet key ethical principles and is subject to oversight through formal ethical research governance structures.
