Founded in 1974 LUISS Guido Carli is located in Rome, in the lively Parioli and Trieste neighbourhoods. On campus, students will find a wide variety of services from a cafeteria, academic assistance and advice, career services and sports teams. In 2013, it ranked first for Political Science and second for Law and Economics among private universities. Rome enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with mid-spring and fall being most comfortable and temperatures above 32°C in the summer.
It will not be possible to complete a year abroad at this University if you have any assessments, such as supplementary or deferred exams, during the August assessment period at Swansea University.

ACADEMIC YEAR: Runs from September to June.
COSTS: The cost of living in Rome will vary depending on the type of accommodation you select and your lifestyle.
VISA: You may need a visa and/or residence permit for your stay in Italy, please refer to the Italian Embassy website to find out if you should apply before you travel. Your host university will provide you with more information about the process. You must allow enough time to complete the application and for your visa to be sent to you. There can be significant delays, so please do not leave this until the last minute as you cannot travel to Italy without it.
ACCOMMODATION: Students must apply for housing through a web form during their online application to Luiss. There are limited places available and they will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis.
HEALTH INSURANCE: You will be required to purchase mandatory health insurance for your time at LUISS. You will be provided with further information.
