What made you decide to study at Swansea University?
I applied to Swansea University because it is an emerging research institution in the UK and worldwide. Swansea University Medical School is ranked 3rd in the UK and it offers many outstanding courses including the MSc Nanomedicine course. Swansea University also has a good reputation for welcoming international students from different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
What did you like about your course?
The MSc in Nanomedicine is a unique course in the UK and worldwide. It relates to the innovative applications of nanotechnology to the current advances in precision medicine. The course opens up new horizons for personalised therapy by designing smart drug delivery systems and targeted diagnosis agents.
What are your three favourite things about Swansea?
Living in Swansea was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. Swansea offers a magic combination of a stunning bay, an amazing student life, and a diverse community.
Were you a member of any student societies? Did you take advantage of any other opportunities?
Working as a student ambassador at Swansea University was an exceptional experience for me. It was a great opportunity to develop my communication skills and help the international development office to reach out to more prospective students from the Middle East and North Africa.
What do you have planned in the next 12 months?
I will be working on the development and commercialisation of the first smart Nano-Device to monitor Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients in Algeria.
What do you hope to have achieved in the next five years?
Reduce the cost of MS treatment by 30% and strengthen bilateral relations between the NHS and the Algerian ministry of health.
