There will be something for everyone in the Babell Lên, I'm sure, and we look forward to extending a warm welcome to everyone.”
For the first time this year, Swansea University's Faculty of Science and Engineering will sponsor the Eisteddfod’s Science and Technology Medal. The Medal is presented to recognise and celebrate an individual's contribution to the field of science and technology through the medium of Welsh. The medal was designed by Delyth Williams, Lecturer in Graphic Design at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, and created by a team within Swansea University's Faculty of Science and Engineering. The winner's name will be announced at a special ceremony in the Science and Technology Village at 2pm on Friday 11 August.
Professor David Smith, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, said: "We are delighted to work in partnership with the Eisteddfod to sponsor and produce the Science and Technology medal. Several highly skilled teams have come together to produce the unique medal using 3D printed metal at the Materials Advanced Characterisation Centre (MACH1). It's been an exciting new venture and we're proud to be part of the celebration of science and technology activities through the medium of Welsh."
