Swansea University is helping to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs.
It has joined forces with education experts 2B Enterprising to provide invaluable lessons in in business, enterprise, and resilience to pupils at Cwmglas Primary School in Swansea.
This is the latest partnership of The Bumbles of Honeywood programme which aims to bring educational enterprise to life by pairing organisations with local schools. As a result pupils can gain access to bespoke educational resources - storybooks, lesson plans, and downloadable resources - funded by their partner. These help inspire children’s entrepreneurial skills and encourage them to learn about enterprise in the classroom in an engaging and fun way.
In turn organisations then get the opportunity to develop a relationship with their partner schools, which improves community engagement and strengthens future employment and enterprise skills.
Swansea University is the latest organisation to sign up to the educational partnership, joining industry leading companies including Swansea.com, Sony, Raven Delta Group and National Grid.
Professor Louisa Huxtable-Thomas, from Swansea University’s School of Management, said: “We are passionate about encouraging our staff and students to be entrepreneurial. Supporting young people and schools with 2b Enterprising’s innovative type of learning is an extension of our dual commitment to support communities and to develop an innovative and resilient future workforce for south Wales.”
The partnership got off to a flying start when University’s Lucy Griffiths, head of Swansea Employability Academy visited the school in Winch Wen to watch the some of the initial sessions and meet the pupils involved.

In the last year, 2B Enterprising has engaged with more than 100 corporate partners in sectors as diverse as construction, hospitality, finance, technology, retail and tourism.
