Swansea University recently welcomed 60 top companies and organisations to its annual Careers Fair, helping more than 2,300 students break into the job market and boost their employability.
As part of this year's Fair, the Swansea University Employability Academy (SEA) organised two events across both campuses on 17-18 October, welcoming almost 300 more attendees than the previous year.
The events featured a wide range of employers from all sectors, including the NHS Wales Finance Academy and Welsh Water to Deloitte, Jaguar Land Rover, and Tata Steel.
A highlight in the SEA calendar, the Fair encourages students from all faculties, disciplines, and levels of study to network and explore their options following graduation, be that graduate roles, internships, placements, or further study.
Adhitya, an MSc Power Engineering and Sustainable Energy student, said: "It was fantastic to get the chance to network with prospective employers and colleagues who shared similar interests and aspirations as mine, and an excellent way to explore my possibilities with a wide array of organisations to begin planning my career."
This year, the Fair also offered students new LinkedIn photos and access to a CV clinic to assist with applications, all part of the University's effort to maximise support during the tough job landscape.
Ranked 35th in the UK for Career Prospects, according to the Guardian University Guide 2024, events like the Careers Fair highlight the University's commitment to nurturing the professional growth and development of all its students.
Jess Loomba, Employability Services Manager at SEA, said: "We were so pleased to welcome so many local, national, and international employers to this year's Careers Fair and to see so many students taking advantage of the opportunity to forge invaluable connections.
"The amazing numbers we saw this year demonstrate the determination of our students and the continued interest in Swansea University as a hub for career growth, and we're already looking forward to the next Fair!"
