Swansea University aims to provide an environment of research excellence, with research that is world leading, globally collaborative and internationally recognised.
So, in order to help develop our Early Career Researchers to fulfil their potential and become future leaders in their fields, on 16 March 2018, Swansea University launched the very first Early Career Fellowship Group run by the University's Research, Innovation and Engagement Services team. The fellowship is part of the University’s strategy to increase research income levels to £76m by 2022 and help develop our Early Career Researchers to become our future leaders.
The Florence Mockeridge Fellowship Group is named after Professor Florence Annie Mockeridge, a trail-blazing academic of her generation and Swansea University Professor of Botany, from 1922 to 1954, with the fellowship only awarded to outstanding researchers who have the potential to become leaders in their field and designed to support them with mentorship from Swansea University academics of the highest calibre.
We are delighted to have had two fantastic cohorts (23 in total) coming through our intensive six-month training and mentorship programme, with a writing retreat at Gregynog Hall.
