The circular economy is an economic system that aims to eliminate waste and promote the continual use of resources.

It is based on the principles of designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems. Social and political change are two key factors that can help drive the transition towards a circular economy.

The social change needed entails consumer demand for more sustainable products and services, while the political change needed requires policies to incentivize businesses to adopt more sustainable, just and honest practices.

A change in cultural attitudes towards the economy is required for both this social and political change to occur.
