Rethinking and redefining our materials for a net-zero circular economy
 
From systems level to the nanoscale, our society must rethink and redefine our raw material sources and supply chains, our waste management, and our materials and product design.
 
The complexity of this transition is extremely high, and all different stakeholders must be considered, including policymakers, investors, manufacturers, educators, researchers, engineers, consumers, and users.
 
This research theme faces this challenge by facilitating discussions with relevant stakeholders, and by developing strategies that change the way we use, and value materials in society.
 
It integrates the development of new materials for a net-zero future, as well as it includes any strategies towards circular economy, waste to materials, urban mining, non- critical materials utilization, digital material passports, and the use of AI/Big data/Computing to enable the transition to more sustainable materials.
