Overview

Well-being is often used to encompass many aspects of wellness, health, and a state of equilibrium. Researchers within the Swansea University adopt a broad definition comprising psychological, physical, social and emotional aspects, while also recognising the significance of economic circumstances in children and young people's lives. Wide-ranging concerns around children and young people's well-being, particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic, highlights the need for ongoing education and research in this field. Hence the Department offers well-being modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels which explore areas such as how to protect and promote well-being in education.
