Ida is an interdisciplinary legal researcher and lecturer in law.

In September 2022, she joined the Hillary Rodham Clinton (HRC) School of Law at Swansea University, having previously been a lecturer in law at the University of Kent from September 2020 to August 2022.

Ida completed her funded doctorate at the University of Southampton, where she also taught on the LLB programme for several years (2014-2017) and honed her skills as a researcher and academic. She holds degrees in law and philosophy.

Ida adopts an interdisciplinary approach to her research, thinking across disciplines to frame questions and find innovative solutions. Her research interests are in comparison, comparative law theory, law and technology, and philosophy of technology with strands stretching back to her Ph.D. project. Her Ph.D. investigated the concept of comparison in law with insights from Ludwig Wittgenstein and Martin Heidegger. She is currently writing a monograph on comparison.

Ida’s teaching is led by her research. She designs, develops, and convenes the interdisciplinary Law, Science and Technology (LST) course, which critically situates and examines the broader theoretical and social issues underpinning technology and law.
