About

Ihsan Al-Affan is a senior lecturer of Medical Physics at Swansea University. He started his career as a research fellow at the London South Bank University working on research on radon risk to lung. This research involved working on a project to assess the lung cancer risk due to radon and its decay products. He moved to Cardiff working in Velindre Hospital in 1990 as a clinical scientist at the radiotherapy department.  Then in 1998 he worked at Physics Department in Zarka University, Jordan lecturing various subjects in physics and medical radiation physics. In 2001, Ihsan, joined the United Arab Technical Training Project at Bexhill On Sea, UK as an academic adviser to manage and monitor the academic progress of over 150 students from the United Arab Emirates who studied and were trained in British technical colleges. From 2011 he joined the MSc programme as a senior lecturer in Medical Physics at Swansea University.
