About

Dr Julian Hunt is a sociologist with a particular interest in ethnographic and qualitative research methods.  Dr Hunt’s research focuses primarily on infection prevention and enhancing patient safety culture in hospital settings.  He combines this work with a keen interest in historical sociology and the impact of class and place upon health inequalities and social, cultural and community life. 

Dr Hunt has worked at three universities in the UK and has conducted empirical work in and around these places.  He has undertaken research and policy work for the Welsh Refugee Council, and has been a member of the Welsh Government ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Strategy Advisory Group. 

Dr Hunt has published widely and has spoken at a number of national and global conferences.
