Marcus Doel is Professor of Human Geography and the Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Swansea University in the UK. His books include Poststructuralist Geographies: The Diabolical Art of Spatial Science (Edinburgh University Press), Geographies of Violence: Killing Space, Killing Time (Sage), Jean Baudrillard: Fatal Theories (Routledge), The Consumption Reader  (Routledge), and Moving Pictures/Stopping Places: Hotels & Motels on Film (Lexington). Marcus has published over 100 other articles for peer-reviewed journals and book chapters for edited collections, and has written extensively on structuralism and poststructuralism, social and spatial theory, cinematic cities and consumer society, modernity and postmodernity, and visual technologies and media geographies.
