Mike Gilbert is one of two Quality Leads supporting internal and external educational quality assurance processes in the Graduate Entry Medicine and Physician Associates Studies programmes.
A NHS consultant cardiothoracic anaesthetist, Mike has worked at the Morriston Cardiac Centre since 2002, developing interests in intraoperative echocardiography and anaesthesia for thoracic surgery.
Mike is currently Principal Investigator for the Morriston site for the NIHR-funded TOPIC2 Trial, comparing effectiveness of thoracic epidural analgesia and paravertebral regional block in reduction of post-thoracotomy pain.
