Okan is a Lecturer in Finance in the Department of Accounting and Finance. He has a B.A. (Economics) from Hacettepe University (Turkey), a MSc (Economics) from University of East Anglia and a PhD (Economics) from University of Sheffield.

Okan joined the Accounting and Finance Department at School of Management in August 2019.

Taught Modules

MN-3501 Financial Economics

This module aims to provide students with a detailed understanding (mostly theoretic foundations) of portfolio theory and the relationship between risk and return from an investment, and of specific models designed to study the relationship between risk and return. This module requires a high level of mathematical ability (e.g. optimisation, basic linear algebra, advanced statistics and time series econometrics).
MN-M505 Global Risk Management and Derivatives

This module aims to provide an understanding of how companies and financial institutions can manage risk through the use of financial derivatives and covers the role of hedging and risk management in business organisations. Different types of financial derivative will be introduced and their roles in financial markets in terms of trading and hedging will be covered. Basic pricing theories and techniques will also be covered in this module.
