Additionally, I was impressed by the support services available to students, including the career services and the student welfare team.
I have a great relationship with my lecturers at Swansea University. They are all very approachable, knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. They always make time for their students and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure we have a good understanding of the material. Additionally, I appreciate how they provide constructive feedback on assignments, which helps me to improve and achieve better grades. Overall, I feel fortunate to have such excellent lecturers who are committed to our success.
I find the group discussions and debates in our seminars to be really engaging and thought-provoking. It's great to be able to bounce ideas off of my peers and learn from their perspectives as well. Additionally, I've really enjoyed the practical components of my course, particularly the hands-on projects and assignments.
I find the course to be quite flexible in terms of allowing me to pursue my interests. I appreciate that there are a variety of modules offered, so I can tailor my studies to match my career goals. My favourite module so far has been Power Generation Systems, as I found the content to be engaging and thought-provoking. In terms of the professors, I've had a positive experience overall. There are a few that stand out as particularly supportive and helpful, such as Dr Vasileios Samaras, who has been instrumental in guiding me through my placement scheme.
I have used the careers team at Swansea University and I found their advice and support to be extremely helpful. The team was able to provide me with tailored guidance on my CV and cover letter, as well as tips on how to improve my interview skills. One piece of advice I would give to prospective students is to start utilising the careers team early on in their studies.
Studying at Swansea University has helped me develop a range of skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. These skills have been invaluable in my career progression, particularly in roles that require effective decision-making and teamwork.
I find the sports facilities at the University to be really impressive. The gym is well-equipped with a wide range of cardio and strength training equipment. There are also plenty of sports teams and clubs to join, so there's always something going on. Even if you're not a competitive athlete, there are opportunities to take part in casual sports and fitness classes, which is great for staying active and meeting new people. Overall, I think the University does a great job of providing students with access to high-quality sports facilities and programs.
My three favourite things about Swansea are the beautiful coastline and beaches, the friendly community and atmosphere in the city, and the excellent academic resources and opportunities at the university. Being close to the Gower Peninsula has allowed me to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of Wales, while the welcoming and tight-knit community in Swansea has made me feel at home. Additionally, the university has provided me with access to incredible resources, such as state-of-the-art facilities and top-notch faculty members, which have helped me tremendously in my academic and personal growth.
If you're considering applying to Swansea University, I would definitely recommend it.
