Why Swansea?
I ended up coming through Clearing, and Swansea was ranked higher than my firm and insurance choices.

What are your top 3 favourite things about Swansea (the city/area)?
1. Community Feel: It’s small but feels big at the same time. There’s a sense that everyone knows everyone.
2. Coastal Charm: Being in a coastal city is wonderful and makes up for its size.
3. Welcoming Atmosphere: The friendliness of the city makes it feel like home.

Why did you choose to study your degree at Swansea?
Although I came through Clearing, Swansea was one of my top choices. It's an underrated university that deserves more recognition as it competes strongly with other institutions.

What is your favourite thing about your course?
There are so many things I love about Chemical Engineering, but the top-notch faculty and approachable department stand out. They are always ready to help.

What are you planning/hoping to do after you graduate?
I’m planning to pursue an MEng, possibly at Swansea or another university. I aim to work in renewables, bringing creative ideas from my education abroad back to Bahrain to make a significant impact and leave a legacy.

Would you recommend Swansea University to other students?
Definitely! Swansea feels like home with its small-city charm and strong academic and research credentials. The student life exceeded all my expectations.

Do you participate in a Swansea University sports team/club?
Yes, I’ve been part of the powerlifting club (SUPC) and am now the secretary on the committee. It’s a wonderful community of like-minded people.

Are you/have you been part of a society?
Yes, I’m involved in multiple societies, including the Islamic Society (ISOC), the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Society (CEES), and the Arab Society. I’ve enjoyed my time and contributed to various committees, benefiting greatly from the experience.

Have you lived in halls during your studies?
Yes, living in halls was lovely. It was convenient to go to lectures, and my flatmates were fantastic, helping me settle into Swansea.

Did you apply through Clearing?
Yes, with the help of an agent. It was a bit hectic, but ultimately worthwhile.

Have you accessed student support at Swansea University?
Yes, I have. Working with them as a representative has been helpful. They assisted me with accommodations for my anxiety during examinations, making the process smooth and supportive.
