Before choosing Swansea, I did thorough research through my professional network and there is no doubt that the Department and the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law at Swansea University enjoy an excellent reputation in the shipping and trade law field.
Swansea’s international reputation was confirmed from day one when sitting in a lecture theatre with students from all over the world. You will never be presented a better opportunity to build an international network of colleagues and friends. Today I have no doubt that I made the right decision. The Department of Shipping and Trade Law offers a great number of interesting and topical modules allowing you to tailor your specialised LLM. Every module is taught by lecturers who are all renowned experts in their field. Teaching is both research-led and practice-driven, aiming at bridging the gap between practice and academia. I also benefited from the many extra-curricular activities organised by the Department such as guest lectures on contemporary topics, the challenging mooting competition, trips to London firms, networking events and internship opportunities. A great experience indeed!
