Our Students' Union supports over 150 societies
Swansea University has a strong campus-based student community. From visual arts to poker; real ale to gospel, the Students' Union most likely has the perfect society for you - and if it doesn't, the Union makes it easy for you to start your own!
Joining a club or society is a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends. It can also give you valuable transferable skills for gaining future employment - especially if you take a lead role in the running of the group.
You can browse or sign up to a sports club or society at any time by visiting the Students’ Union website. There will be lots of opportunities to find out more about what they have to offer during the welcome period.
For the full list of societies, and for more information, please visit the Students' Union Societies page.
Shwmae, I'm Gwern, and I'm delighted to be representing you as your Societies and Services Officer for the coming academic year!
I graduated my Accounting and Finance degree with a year in industry in 2021 before pursuing my passion for the Welsh language landing the Welsh Affairs Officer role last year.
Community has always been at the forefront to me, and I found that in the Welsh society in which I was President and Vice-President during my time in university. I’m eager to ensure that everyone finds their community in Swansea, as it shapes your university experience! If you can’t find me on campus, I’ll be waving my Aberystwyth Town FC scarf or singing my heart out in a Welsh gig! I see Swansea as a home now in which my favourite place would be any of our beloved pubs that show the rugby or footie!
Hi, I'm Jonny your Students' Union Sports Officer!
Hello everyone, I’m Jonny Davies: a London boy but a Swansea man. As a student, I studied politics, but my main focus has always been sport. I was both the Vice-captain and captain of Rugby League, I played American football, and I boxed which led me to set up Swansea’s own premier White Collar Boxing event – Green Collar boxing (uppa swans).
Uni sport has given me so much, it’s made me the person I am today. Hopefully now, I can use this opportunity as sports officer to give something back to the Swansea sporting community. Go the green and white army!
