Costs: £1795 programme fee (which includes a £195 non-refundable deposit) plus flights and additional costs

Funding: £2100 for eligible students, or £2600 for eligible widening participation students.
Funding is limited and not guaranteed for all applicants.
Funding applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. Published funding is only open to eligible applicants who apply by midnight 4th January 2026. After this date, funding levels may be reduced.

Dates: 1st August - 29th August 2026. Your programme must be completed by August 31st 2026 for funding purposes.

The only funded Challenges Abroad programme in Peru is: Social Impact in the Community Challenge (4 weeks)

Please note: funding is NOT available for the two-week version of this challenge. 

Challenges Abroad is a social enterprise with a mission that’s all about shaping the next generation of Global Citizens . Their programmes are designed to help you gain new skills, expand your global awareness, and contribute to meaningful causes. Challenges Abroad define some of the programme benefits as:

  • Design and facilitate conversational English and STEAM workshops that aim to inspire learners in their education!
  • Help in the development of important skills like critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork that will engage young learners in their education and reduce drop-out rates!
  • Raise environmental awareness amongst the local community through tree-planting activities and community clean-ups!
  • Raise your cultural awareness, increase your confidence, and become more resilient.
  • Project includes; food, accommodation, 24/7 in-country support, domestic travel, and airport pick-up and drop-off. (Flights not included).
