Biomedical Engineering
Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering principles to both the human body and the instrumentation used in modern medicine.
You will study around a thriving research community at Swansea University as our degrees draw on the exciting medical research that is taking place at the £22 million Centre for NanoHealth (CNH), a unique facility linking engineering and medicine. You will also have access to the Biomedical Engineering Simulation & Testing (BEST) Lab which is a fantastic space for interdisciplinary researchers to grow ideas from concept through to manufacture, instrumentation, and testing.
Our Biomedical Engineering graduates gain the skills of engineering alongside the vital experience and knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and the ability to communicate with clinicians. Previous graduates have gone on to have interesting careers at companies such as Renishaw, Calon Cardio-Technology Ltd, Olympus Surgical Technologies, NHS, GE Healthcare and Royal Navy.
