Community programme
Following a change within the Adult Continuing Education Department, Academi Hywel Teifi began funding and co-ordinating Welsh-medium lifelong learning courses that were no longer receiving funding from the University to ensure continuity of provision. The Academi Hywel Teifi community program provides educational opportunities for fluent Welsh-medium learners and higher level Welsh learners. The courses have attracted sponsorship from Literature Wales and are held during the day and evening in two of Swansea’s Welsh Centers, namely Tŷ Tawe and Tŷ’r Gwrhyd. Term time courses include literature, cynghanedd, history, culture, music, and photography classes.
