Easing financial pressures

At Swansea University, we recognise that many of our students may face financial hardship at some point during their time at university. Supporting Swansea aims to increase the support available in this area, easing the financial pressures brought about by engaging in full time education.

Supporting student hardship can provide crucial support and emergency financial assistance to talented students who find themselves in unexpected financial need through no fault of their own. 

A gift of £75 could offer emergency assistance with essential living costs.

An annual donation of £120 could help ensure an estranged student can attend their graduation.

A monthly gift of £20 could contribute half the cost of the average hardship bursary, giving a student the stability they need to pursue their education.

With your generosity, we can make a huge difference to the current generation of students both during their time at Swansea University and in preparing them for a bright future.

Rabhia's Story

Rabhia is studying for her masters in Physician Associate Studies as she is passionate about providing medical care to patients in need. Keen to do her bit to support the NHS during the covid pandemic, Rabhia applied for a job as a vaccinator. However, delays beyond her control left her without an income. Thankfully, Rabhia was able to apply for a Student Hardship grant.
