Project Overview
We are always on the lookout for new modalities of information which could reveal new biological features that are useful for deciphering the complexity of biological systems with minimum disturbance to the system itself. With this perspective, we explore the molecular signatures of organic and inorganic samples obtained using vibrational spectroscopy techniques such as Raman and infrared spectroscopy and apply artificial intelligence to learn about new processes that are often not obvious otherwise. We are learning about nanomaterials as well as biological systems such as cells, tissues and whole organisms of scientific or ecological relevance such as c-elegans and daphnia. Our endeavour is to develop underpinning understanding of structures in-operando optical spectroscopy and data science tools for discovering new methods of diagnosis of diseases and understanding biological processes.
