Course Details

This module supports you to develop your teaching and facilitation skills within your practice setting. You will explore both seminal and contemporary theories of teaching, learning and assessment, and apply these to real-world situations to enhance the way you support and develop learners in practice. A key focus of the module is building your confidence, capability and understanding when giving meaningful constructive feedback that promotes growth and improves performance. Learners may include students, colleagues or patients, enabling you to adapt your approach to a variety of learning needs and contexts. Through critical reflection you will strengthen your effectiveness as an educator within your professional setting.

Individuals interested in a work based learning approach to developing their teaching and facilitation skills.

Duration

This is a work-based learning module. Students will undertake learning within their employed place of work. Academic supervision is provided at the request of the student – up to 50 minutes per month for the duration of the module. Action learning sets are offered as one 90 minute session per month.
