Three years ago, the School of Law at Swansea entered into an agreement with Bloomfield Law Practice (based in Nigeria) to launch an annual Prize and internship opportunity for the best Nigerian LLM student studying at Swansea in the realm of commercial, maritime and oil and gas law.
Bloomfield Law Practice is as an elite law firm specialising in maritime and commercial law. Their clients comprise of domestic, regional and international players in the aviation, capital markets, construction & infrastructure, FinTech, hospitality, insurance, logistics, oil & gas (including oil services), power, telecommunications, shipping, banking and finance, and consumer goods sectors.
This year, the Prize goes to Nicole Ozavize Dele-Alufe. Nicole is a graduate of Benson Idahosa University and completed her Bar Qualification Course at Nigerian Law School (Abuja). She is enrolled on our LLM in International Commercial and Maritime Law and is currently on course to complete her LLM with a distinction.
The Prize was presented to Nicole in person by Mr Afun, who is the Chair of the firm's Aviation & Logistics and Shipping & Oil Services Practice Groups, at Swansea. During the ceremony, Mr Afun praised the legal education offered at Swansea and indicated that Nicole will be offered an internship at their Lagos office shadowing several partners from January onwards.
