Law students Connah Snape, Megan Croombs, Matthew Baker, Ruth Evans and Ryan Johnson recently enjoyed an insightful day at Lincoln’s Inn in London.
Lincoln's Inn is one of the four Inns of Court in London to which barristers of England and Wales belong and where they are called to the Bar. Lincoln's Inn, along with the three other Inns of Court, is recognised as being one of the world's most prestigious professional bodies of judges and lawyers.
The event included talks, networking opportunities and a three-course meal. The students were able to speak with people from various legal professions as well as other like-minded students from other universities, and had the opportunity to talk personally with barristers, judges and even Jonathon Crow QC, the Treasurer of Lincoln’s Inn.
Speaking on the opportunity, the students had the following to say:
“This was very insightful because our conversations ranged from anecdotes to real-world advice for us as hopefuls wanting to pursue a career at the Bar. We were given a realistic view in relation to the competitive nature of a barrister’s career, including the Bar course and obtaining a pupillage.
This opportunity allows for us to better our knowledge on the subject and further motivate us towards our goals. Furthermore, this was an amazing event to attend, and we all hope to continue attending more like this in the future.”
