Bloomfield LLP is a specialist commercial and dispute resolution law firm based in Nigeria with several international connections. In recent years, the firm has expanded rapidly and is widely regarded as one of the best niche law firms in Nigeria.
Five years ago, the School of Law at Swansea entered into an agreement with Bloomfield to launch an annual prize and internship opportunity for the best Nigerian LLM student studying at Swansea in the realm of commercial, maritime, IP and oil/gas law. This is a monetary prize that also includes an element of traineeship at Bloomfield.
This year, the Prize goes to MaryAnn Nnamani. MaryAnn is a graduate of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and worked as a solicitor in Nigeria over a decade before enrolling in the LLM in IP, Innovation and Law.
This week MaryAnn completed the LLM with distinction, and the prize was presented to her by Professor Soyer (Director of Shipping and Trade) and Dr Kurtz-Shefford (Deputy Director of Shipping and Trade), on behalf of Bloomfield LLP.
Speaking after the ceremony, Professor Soyer said:
“MaryAnn is a hardworking, kind and gifted individual. I have no doubt that she will have a great future in niche areas of commercial law (IP and tech). We are also grateful to Bloomfield LLP for supporting the new generation of lawyers.”
