At Swansea we take great pride in our students’ successes. Our courses are intense and demanding, but we place a high degree of importance on supporting out students, both academically and in terms of employability.
We are pleased that HFW, a world renowned international commercial law firm, agrees. For over half a decade they have provided our students with three separate prizes, to reflect the diversity of their shipping and commercial work.
This year’s worthy recipients were three of our shining best, each scoring the top mark in their respective modules:
- Ms Farah Binti-Mahadi is the winner for the HFW prize in Oil and Gas Law
- Mr Md Nazmus Sakib for the HFW prize in Carriage of Goods, and
- Mr Alex Papazios for the HFW prize in Admiralty.
The Prizes were awarded in London by Richard Neylon who is a Swansea graduate and Partner at the firm. Prize winners were accompanied by Professor Soyer, Dr Amaxilati, Ms Nicholas and Dr Kurtz Shefford to the Prize ceremony.
Speaking after the event Professor Soyer said:
“We offer our heartiest congratulations to our students and thank HFW for their very valued and continuing support. They are doing a great job by investing in the future generation of maritime and energy lawyers.
I also thank my team members: the fact that several of them joined us in London to be part of our prize winners’ big day is another demonstration of the commitment we have at Swansea to our students.”
