Intercalation is an extra year of study on top of your Medicine degree programme and an opportunity to explore a new area in greater depth, gain new knowledge and develop new skills. For some medical schools this is compulsory, but for many others it is optional.
Whilst intercalation is not a pre-requisite on our Medicine programme, we encourage all our students to consider this option.Experience has shown that those who have undertaken an intercalated degree gain a deeper knowledge of the underlying science as well as a greater understanding of their clinical studies.
