Swansea University has achieved its highest ever position in the Complete University Guide League Tables 2022 – and has broken into the top 30.
The university has climbed three places to the 29th position in the main league table which ranks 130 UK universities based on measures including entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality and graduate prospects.
As well as achieving its highest ever position in the Guide, Swansea University is now ranked top in the UK for Medicine. A new ‘graduate prospects - on track’ metric has been introduced this year, which shows that 78.9% of Swansea University students agreed they were on track with their career progression with a ranking of 44th in the UK.
The guide shows Swansea occupies second place in Wales overall and continues to offer students an excellent experience and good prospects with student satisfaction ranked 35th and graduate prospects ranked 26th in the UK. Our research quality remains at 24th in the UK while all universities await the outcome of the next Research Excellence Framework which is due to be published next April.
The Complete University Guide also produces separate league tables covering 74 subjects, and this year Swansea features in 44 of them with almost half of our subjects appearing in the top 20.
Ten subjects are ranked in the top 10 subject tables, with a further nine subjects featured in the top 20. Subjects featured in the top ten are:
- Medicine – 1st
- Complementary Medicine – 1st
- Childhood and Youth Studies – 2nd
- American Studies – 5th
- Health Studies – 6th
- Communication and Media Studies – 8th
- Celtic Studies – 9th
- General Engineering – 9th
- Manufacturing and Production Engineering – 9th
- Materials Technology - 9th
